We had a mardi gras Veenstra family Christmas party!
Not by choice. That's just how they decorated the banquet room his year. However I kind of liked it...it was different and the kids loved the masks and the bright colors.

Thanks to Kaysar we put our tree up!
And I have to admit that I love coming home to a lit up Christmas tree in the middle of our living room.
Keith and I wanted to bag the whole Christmas tree this year but tenacious Kaysar kept asking...and asking...and asking. Finally when Grams (aka grandma Ruth) came to visit Keith set it up. Grams and Kaysar decorated the tree together while Keyan napped. It was quite funny watching her try to organize it, balance it and proportion it while he was decorating it Kaysar-style!

I'm glad Kaysar talked you into putting up the tree. It looks great! I agree...coming home to a lit up tree is wonderful. Cute pictures from the family party and you being silly with the kids. I loved it! I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas!
